Bernard Eardley founder member of The Staffordshire Men,

Passed away on Monday April 14th. 2008. aged 56 after a long

battle with cancer.

A Brief History Of The Staffordshire Men Folk Group

In 1972 The Staffordshire Men Started Out as a duo and in 1990 another 3 members joined to form a  five piece band, then at the end of 1991 one member left brining the band down to a four piece. In '94 the band engaged three girl's, the girl's were with the band for two years. Two of the girl's left to go to uni: in '96' and in '97 the band changed Bass player's. A year later the one surviving lady went off to university which made the band a four piece again, but more recently another talented musician joined the group to make The Staffordshire Men a five piece band once more. They play and sing music which is a blend of Irish, English, Scottish and Australian traditional folk music.
